Obediencia Heckmann teaches at Thornville High School. Her upbringing took her around the world, finally landing her in Northern California. She and her husband live in the suburbs of Sacramento and have a small, infrequently-tallied number of children and pets.
John Ransack taught English in Japan for several years and held a number of similarly irresponsible positions throughout his twenties, until settling down to teach at Thornville High School. His background in social science failed to prepare him to give up his interest in writing, so he chose not to.
SEW Smith has an MFA in Theatre and Dance from the University of Hawai’i and a BA from Berkeley, which exposed him to enough great writers to convince him he would never be one. His experiences range from running theatre programs to teaching English classes at Thornville High and a wide range of side projects.
Remember, Perhaps
Some will hate you, you know.
Some will see you
and mistake civility
for weakness.
Their fault? Not likely.
Your task to endure it?
That is not an easy answer.

Who Is Really Necessary At School
An Old Quarrel Story
“Old Quarrel,” John Ransack asked the man as they walked across campus one day, “Who’s the most important person in class?”
